In the news 📰
In a bid to enable a wide variety of local businesses to offer their products/services, the government intends to develop a digital platform on an open network.
Top banks like SBI & HDFC, stock exchanges like NSE & BSE, and payments and settlement institutions like NPCI have expressed interest in building and supporting the network to curb digital monopolies.
The digital bookkeeping app Khatabook shut down MyStore, its e-commerce enablement product, on 15th November.
The closure came close on the heels of a contentious legal battle between Khatabook and its competitor Dukaan over plagiarism. Khatabook had to change the name of its e-comm app to MyStore after a four-month-long conflict.
Google to invest ₹ 110 crores in a lending scheme that will help SIDBI disburse loans to MSMEs.
Micro enterprises with turnover up to ₹ 5 crores are eligible for loans ranging from ₹ 25 Lakhs to ₹ 1 Crore. MSMEs that need capital to upgrade their equipment or scale their production infrastructure will be eligible for loans under the scheme. Women-owned businesses can avail the resources at competitive interest rates, as the scheme aims to encourage female entrepreneurs.
